    Mic Sensitivity Issues

Recently I’ve been having problems with my microphone sensitivity while playing. My party can hear their own echo, along with somewhat frequent in game audio bleeding through. I don’t have my sounds turned up to the max, but even if I wanted to, I still feel like this shouldn’t happen. I have played around in the settings and nothing seems to help. Turning off mic monitoring, as well as mixing the in game sounds and chat down doesn’t seem to help. The only success that I have found was turning headset volume significantly down, to the point where I could barely hear the game, chat, or often both.

I have also tried 2 different controllers, as well as 3 different headsets (Logitech G Pro, Razor Blackshark V2 Pro, HyperX Cloud Stinger).

I’m at a loss, I hate ruining my teammates experience or my own when I’m playing.

    Any advice?

    :)

    Hi RyanWill,

I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with the mic/headset audio. I understand that is really frustrating for you and your party.

Is this through your Xbox console, or are you playing with PC? Are all the headsets being used Wireless? The mic should not pick up the sounds coming from the headset.

Check to make sure you don't have the chat / audio coming from the TV / Monitor as well as the headset, which can provide feedback to your party.

Here's how to manage your sound settings and turn off audio from your TV or Monitor:

    1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
    2. Navigate to your profile, then select Settings
    3. Under General, navigate to Volume & audio output
    4. Under Advanced, select Additional options
    5. Under Party chat output select Headset
From there you can check the box that says "Mute speaker audio when headset is attached" or check other settings from the Volume options drop downs. I personally have my Chat mixer setting at "Reduce the volume of other sounds by 50%"

is it your mic that is too loud or is it other people you are in a party with?

to adjust the sensitivity of the mic, press the Xbox button on the controller then press RB 3 times to get to the System tab and select Audio from the options there.

this will allow you to turn down mic monitoring so your mic is less sensitive.

if it is other people in your party who have their mics too sensitive then they will have to adjust the mic monitoring on their Xbox

Some headsets are equipped with a monitoring sensor. I use the RIG 800 which has this feature. Have you tried adjusting your chat mixer and then turning down the volume on you headset? If you earpieces arent actually noise cancelling the sound will bleed
    over.

I am curious what type of mic you have so I can do a bit of research?

    Thanks!
