Mic Saga

Ok purchased an Xbox 1 over Craigs, the headset it came with works but the microphone doesn't function. I can hear the game and I can hear my own voice but the icon when you start a 'party chat' doesn't light up. I also don't think I can hear other players
within the games.

I have looked at the privacy settings and all are on 'Adult'.

Additionally, I downloaded Skype in order to test the microphone and you
cannot hear the skype voice explaining how the test works when calling for a test.

So I purchased a second specifically compatible Xbox one headset and the same results. I tried a second controller thinking it might be the controller with the same results.

I wiped the hard drive and re-installed the updates with the same results.

I opened all the ports on my router with the same results.



I am now stumped. Did I buy a *** up machine?

Saga 2. If your son the first Banner Saga it
would cost £15.99. If that is not the case I would recommencement Xbox Support Chat, they will be able
to look into the issue further. I hope this helps.

 

The only thing that I can thing of that you haven't tried is updating the controller with the headset attached.

Still have the problem...

If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it. I am thinking of getting another Xbox 1 and plugging it into my modem/router to see if it is a hardware problem.

 

Yeah when i start a party by myself i can talk it lights up but as soon as someone joins it stops and both people can not talk me and my mate are having this problem he said it's the same for him to :/ maybe xbox one is just stuffing up again :/ :'(

 

Could it be a band width issue? I bypassed my router and hooked the xbox directly to my modem and it didn't help.

I do have the basic package though. Does the xbox need more than 6 or 10 Mps download/1 Mps upload?

 

I don't think it is a Band issue most likely xbox live is just stuffing up again :/ happens a lot

 

So... Get a new Xbox?

I have already spent a crazy amount of money on this stuff. I have been working on this bug for 2 weeks trying to get it straightened out. I am getting sick of dealing with it.

 

I have the same issue and it does not matter what headset I use. It was working two days ago and now nothing. I know the mic functions but I never get a green circle around my gamertag when I talk.
