mic replacement?

so i finally got my new xbox one s storm grey battlefield 1 bundle and it sadly didn't have a new headset ........so im trying to use the headset i use on my standard xbox one ive reset an updated both my box and controller, cleared the mac, and hooked the
headset to my phone (when i do it works perfectly) as told but still when trying to chat all i get is a violent static......... I cant test the jack that plugs into the controller could that be it?

Can't hear players in game chat

Try replugging in the mic. Just to make sure the mic is functioning properly. Also try the mic connected to a different controller.

 

Trolls on the mic

Whenever I get tired of the trolls I just turned the chatter off. You have to see this as a strategy on their part. Generally speaking the more upset you become the more likely you are to loose focus on playing the actual game. I have pretty thick skin and am laid back I generally do not have any issues tuning these people out. They are pretty funny some time. Just one fo those things you have to deal with when playing multiplayer.
