Mic on Xbox Party Chat (On My PC) cuts in and out constantly

The best way I've found to share my party chat from my xbox to a stream or game recording, is having a secondary account logged in on my Xbox Companion App on my PC, and joining the party chat with that. just remember to mute its mic.

This issue randomly started happening to me. At my dorm's ISP, no issues, however back home randomly on certain days my character would suffer rubberbanding. I checked my connection on speedtest.net. My speeds were fine, great actually. But, they were fluctuating
terribly. Which meant there was a lot of jitter and packet loss. My web browsers worked fine. I just couldn't even game. Everyone in my party chat (when I was in the dashboard) said my mic was constantly cutting in and out. So, it may be your ISP.

I think that sounds like a slightly different issue. I don't get any chat audio at all once a mic cable is plugged in. I've tried a few mic cables and the problem is totally consistent. I'm waiting to test out whether I've got a defective unit here but am
having to wait due to the stock shortages. My gut feeling is that this is actually a software issue. The fact that chat audio plays through the headset before a mic is plugged in, then cuts out as soon as the mic is plugged in means that the adaptor is detecting
the mic and then incorrectly cutting out the chat audio.

hey how did you use your mic in xbox app party chat in the first place? i launched "start a party (beta)" and it shows my mic, but i can't talk or hear anyone in the party chat. and my mic is the default recording device

I play SQDM with mic, but in party chat only with my buddy

(actually not "party chat", but there is a setting in Xbox for chatting with friends only)
