    Mic on my headphones is not working


    I keep receiving the following message when i plug in my headset, the headset is brand new and it still does not work

    “unable to find microphone for these people”

    i have tried all the settings, hard reset, updating my controller

    How did you manage do use Kinect as mic while your headphones are connected to the controller? As soon as I plug in my headphones into the Stereo Headset Adapter my Kinect won't work as mic anymore... Strange thing is, this also happens if my headphones
    don't have an integrated mic

    Xbox One - I can hear other players through my headset - but my mic isn't working.

    The mic that’s on my headphones. I have bose and i tried apple and some others as well. Directly into the 3.5mm audio jack. Mic works on all headphones when plugged into my phone.

    Yes, you will be "able to use my 3.5mm mp3 headphones with the adapter"

    If you want to use a mic along with your headphones you will need to buy a 3.5mm headset splitter.

    You can also use earbuds or IEM but if they have an inline mic, the mic will not work.

    Thanks for coming to the forums. This means that it is not being recognized being plugged into the controller. When you updated your controller, was the headset plugged in at the same time? If not update it again, with the headset plugged in. There is also
    a
    stereo headset adapter     that may help in this situation.
