MIC NOT working HELP

so I'm going to assume that this is a software issue.. I have gone through two mics with no success does anyone know when mircosoft will be doing a software update to fix this

Mic help -.-.....

So for the past few days, my mic decided to die on me. Not the headset part but the mic itself. I am still able to hear everyone in my party just fine but I am unable to communicate with them except through short texts, and emojis. So I borrowed a friends
controller thinking it was this, and not the headset. The one that I use is an Xbox One Stereo headset, and I use via an adapter. So I plug the headset in the new controller, and I get the same result. I go through my settings everything is fine. I go to my
controls, nothing is muted. I even tried using the Xbox One app for the pc and trying to use a usb headset no dice. I even cycled my Xbox. Would anyone happen to know if this is a fault with the Xbox, or am I just using bad headsets/controllers?

They really need to add a feature to switch to which mic you want to use, it's really annoying having the voices playing through my TV, I want it to go to my mic.

Ahh okay. You didn't mention having tried any troubleshooting tips in your original post so I wasn't sure and that guide is the place to start anyways. Do you have another Xbox One controller that you can test your headset/mic on? What kind of mic is it?

Hey there Euda!

I'm sorry to hear about the mic issues. I recommend running through the steps listed on the

headset/mic troubleshooter to start with. If you have another controller, try using your headset on that controller as well to see what happens.

Let us know if something there helps or not.
