Mic not working, can hear but others can't hear me.

I have tried all of the troubleshooting guides from other threads and still have this issue. Even bought new controller and headset. Not very happy with this at all.

almost 4 moths ago now i started having this problem with my mic where i can hear people when they talk but they cannot hear me. steps i have taken to remedy this include

Buying a new mic

Buying a new controller

hard reset

opening ports to see if it was a xbox live issue

Yes ive checked to make sure i wasnt muted (so dont ask)

ive tested my mic using skype and text chat using voice dictation and the mic works but no one can hear me.

i am so far beyong pissed with this issue. At this point the ONLY thing i havent tried is a full factory reset of my xbox itself. i would greatly appreciate any insight or thoughts on thsi matter. For the record i have called xbox support 3 times for help
with this issue and all three times they have failed to help me resolve it.

I been having this problem were I can hear my friends on chat but they can't hear me . I thought it was my headset so I bough a new one and still same problem . I check my settings I got open nat type . Privacy settings to everyone . I test it wired
and wireless same thing . I tested new headset on my phone works fine . I did an update on my controller and everything any help would be appreciated

Sorry you're having issues with your mic. Can you verify that your privacy settings are correct. Please see the steps below or reference

To configure Privacy & online safety settings, follow these steps:

1. Sign in using one of the following accounts:
   • Your Xbox Live account
   • The parent account of the child account you’re having problems with
2. Scroll left on the Home screen to open the guide.
3. Select Settings.
4. Select All Settings.
5. Under Account, select Privacy & online safety.
6. Select View details & customize
7. Select Communicate with voice and text.
8. Select specific friends or everybody, depending on who you want that profile to talk to.
   

 

Unfortunately this does not help.

I have tried this already, All my settings are open, including my NAT.

I can hear the other person in my party clearly, and also when using in game chat.

They can not hear me though.

 

Can you try using another profile by any chance? If you do not have another profile on that Xbox, and that is your home Xbox, you should be able to use another profile to test with. That would tell you if it's something with the console / profile. The only
other thing it could be in the very unlikely event is, you purchased a second headset that was DOA.

 

Third headset, one two different controllers. Same issue, fyi it wasn't DOA, it had the same issue, mic broken not the speaker. I can hear others, and if I use the kinect, they can hear me. There are several posts in these forums for this issue. Can we please
get a working solution soon? I didn't start having these problems until after the major dashboard update.

 

And yes I have turned off the kinect and unplugged it completely thinking that may have been a conflict but it was not.

 

I'm having this exact same problem. I have tried 2 controllers, 2 headsets and still they can't hear me but I can hear them. One strange thing though is that when I try to enter "privacy and online safety" I get the error message "try again - there is a
temporary problem with the service. please try again."

 

Update, bought a xbox one headset adapter to work with my AX720 Triton headset. Same issue. This is not hardware. Even when i go to private party the mic picks up nothing. This is a premium headset with the adapter. Can we please come up with a solution
soon?

 

Have you tried assigning your controller to your profile?

Nobody seems to talk about this which is weird... But I have exactly the same problem until I assign the controller to my profile. I absolutely cannot chat with people until I do this. If I switch controllers, I have to assign the new controller to my profile
again.

Go to Settings > All Settings > Kinect & devices > Devices & accessories > (select the controller you're using) > Assign to someone > (select your profile)

I just tried it no luck. I also just did a full system restore on my xbox same issues. It has got to be something with my profile. I am going to call them today. I will let everyone know what happens. Thanks.

 

Mine has been down for 2 mnths. I have done all the steps as well. I have 2 brand new headsets that i know work. Nat is open, my router has all the settings now, did a factory reset, plugged directly into my modem and nothing

 

Fyi, no one a ms was able to figure this out. I had to wipe my entire xbox out twice then buy a headset adapter for my old triton 720s. Not that I mind having surround again but still a pain when I don't want to wear a full setup. The regular heaset still
does not work neither my old one or the new one I bought. I was on the phone with them three seperate times, each time they had to wait for next tier level support. Not the ideal customer service for me.

 

I have had this issue three times and most recently yesterday'. Speaking with no issues than I realize no one was responding to me. After contacting Microsoft today they told me they had a 90 warranty and I could get a new for 25. So it's pretty awesome
that Microsoft has a sheet product and wants us to continue to buy headset after headset with no fix in sight after countless threads and no resolution.
