    Mic not working and can't update controller


    So I bought a lovely new Razer Kraken Tournament Edition and was excited to play games like fortnite with this new headset , except I can't speak, like it won't pick up my voice no matter what unless I'm literally blowing hard into the mic like it's down
    my throat blowing on it and I've done everything I can to fix it except updating my controller but I can't because when I try it won't even give me the option the update isn't grayed out it's just not there and I've tried doing it manual and on the pc through
    windows 10 xbox one accessories app but nothing has worked. I'm at a loss besides dropping another 60+$ on a new controller. Help?

    I bought both a standard mic, as a replacement, and a mic adapter, to use with my Beats 2 headphones. Neither are working (standard mic before and after controller update as a result of the mic adapter) on two separate controllers.

    Heya!

    When you try and update the controllers what happens? Do you see any error messages? Is so, could you send us photos of those?

    Do other mics work on the controllers possibly a friend's mic?

    Post back and let us know and we can help troubleshoot that some more.
    The update works without a problem, no error messages. No other mics work on the controllers.

    Overwatch- Xbox- Mic Issues. Can hear team chat but cant speak

    Firmware update completed.

    Was able to use the mic in game but when I walked away from the game for a long time and the controller turned off (timed out) the mic stop working. I restarted the console and the mic worked again, So now the only way for the mic to work is to turn the game on, plug headphones into controller and restart console.

    That icon usually shows up when the controller can't detect a mic. If the troubleshooting does not work the controller is probably the culprit

    Home Page of my XBOX 1S shows a muted mic...HELP!!!

    I have tried many ways and several times to unmute the mic icon on the top right corner of my homepage. My headphones, nor my mic works. My controller is wireless but my headphones/mic plugs directly into the xbox controller. It was working fine
    a few days ago and now it's not working at all. The headset is new. Any ideas?
    Try turning the xbox off and then turn the console back on with your mic already plugged into your controller. If that doesnt work try going into settings and see if updating the controller works
