Mic not transmitting my voice

Hello,

I have a standard 500gb xbox one, i think it was the assassin's creed bundle, and it will not pick up my voice.

Chat had suddenly stopped working last week, though I can still hear everyone. When i talk into the mic my name lights up, the little ring around my icon in party chat.. i can see this, everyone else can see this.

My first actions:

Since then I have tried 4 headsets on this xbox, 2 turtle beach x12's, the hyperX cloud 2 from kingston, and the standard xbox chat headset the console came with. 3 different controllers, each the standard wireless xbox controllers the consoles come with.
They are the older style, before the 3.5 jack was built into them. 2 stereo headset adapters from microsoft. All of these bring the same results. I can hear people, they can't hear me. I have done numerous hard restarts, unpluggings, updated the controllers..and
no, the mute button is not on .. I then had my wife try her profile, still the same results.

My second actions:

I tried all this gear on the other xbox one i have in the house, on my profile, on the wife's profile. Everything worked fine. Also i feel good about my network. No real issues there. Been using 2 xbox consoles without problems for years, no recent changes
to it either.

Third:

I hooked up my kinect again! Chat works through this. It is corded of course, so it's a different beast. I would like to stay away from this option because its hard to mute quickly and i can't use a headset with it for some reason. I thought maybe i could
speak into the Kinect and wear a headset to hear.. As soon as i plug in a stereo adapter to my controller it must override the Kinect's mic and it all stops working again.(whether or not the chat with kinect is toggled on)

So i believe there has to be some sort of infrared receiver or 2.4ghz something-or-other in the console that picks up the voice coming from the wireless controller. I believe this is broken, or malfunctioning. Sadly the warranty ended a couple months back,
also kinda funny since today is also the day the new xbox S comes out. Tempting, but does this sound like my answer lies in sending this in for repair? Or any other ideas to try? I feel like I have exhausted my options.

Microphone only works for about 3-5 seconds, then cuts out and nobody can hear me.

Maxen's solution did not work at all.

What can be done about this? The mic seems to work in every way except for transmitting my own voice.

 

Voice volume control?

I dont know if anyone else is having issues with hearing people correctly but I am. They are very soft spoken or, at times, I do not hear them at all when they are clearly transmitting. I know they could be using their kinect mic and depending on how far
or close away they are will determine the strength of their voice while transmitting. My question is this: Just like in the Xbox 360 is there or can there be an option put in to where only voice chat comes through the headset and game audio stays on my TV?

 

I have had the same issue. i just got the new Xbox One S and the issue carried over to this one as well. i have been trying to find fix for almost a year, if not longer. Xbox has not said a word about the problem. im rather angry that this has carried over
to a new system and new controller. i got it to work some times using a PS4 default headset but that was a pain. now With the S not having a way to connect the Kinect form the start, I now have no way to talk to any of my friends. they need to do something
about this

 

That sounds terrible, also just slightly different. When i tried my profile on the other xbox in the house it did work for me. Gives me hope if i repair or upgrade, that i will be free of my issues. Good luck to you Jeffhardyfan52.

As i am typing this I am continuing to test. Basically repeated everything again, the one difference is this is after the big update. Didn't expect a change, but thought i'd try. The result, nothing different than earlier..

I have now exhausted those methods without anything new happening.

I was just now able to try a different console in that same spot, meaning i did a little swap and the new xbox is yielding the same results, much like jeffhardyfan52 had posted happened to them. So this tells me...it has to be the network?? Which blows my
mind because it has been working so well, so consistent for so long. Both xbox one consoles on the network have open NATs, and have had open NATs for years now. Neither has ever given a problem until it abruptly did.

So this appears to no longer belong on the "Accessories" forum.

 

almost 2 years no fix.... i found a rig with a 360 turtle beach hooked up to a 3.5 mm adapter, doesn't always work but sometimes its able to pick up my voice

 

btw.... 4 controllers, 2 consoles, 9 headsets tested no luck 2 years ago i played everyday no problem then out of the blue no more, I've tried every solution, opened my ip, forwarded ports, the whole shebang.... frustrates me being a serious gamer
