Mic not being detected on Xbox one help!

Have tried various headsets old and brand new in number of handsets and still headset and mic undetected. Have checked Mic on, have checked handset is up to date and that all settings for party chats are correct. It can’t be that all the handsets and headsets
i try still dont detect a mic. Xbox S is only 6 months old, how can the headset still not work

If your xbox plugged into a power strip/ surge protector? The xbox has issues detecting the microphone when it's on a shared outlet. Try connecting your xbox directly into the wall outler

Sorry you came across that issue Have you tried a different controller in case it's the controller jack has a damaged cause it happend to me the other day when i found out it was the head phone jack

Sorry to hear it. My name is Kelly and I'm a fellow Xbox gamer.

If you're having trouble using the mic in chat please try these steps to see if one of them helps.

1. Mute then unmute other people in your party
2. Have other people in the party mute than unmute you
3. Power cycle the console by holding the power button on it for 10 seconds till it shuts down.
4. Delete your gamertag, powercycle the console again then redownload your gamertag

I also wanted to mention that perhaps it is an issue with the jack itself. You could try getting a headset adapter for the controller. I use one exclusively and have never had an issue as the adapter is more stable than the jack.

Try make a reconfiguration of your controller in Settings > System > Kinect & Devices > controller
