Mic not being detected by my account

Do you have another account you can test this on to see if the issues is directly affecting your account?

Also have you tried using a different controller to see if it's the mic or controller itself playing up?

Lastly, have you checked your privacy settings to see if you've got voice communication set to friends only or something? See the following link for setting your privacy settings:

If your xbox plugged into a power strip/ surge protector? The xbox has issues detecting the microphone when it's on a shared outlet. Try connecting your xbox directly into the wall outler

Sorry you came across that issue Have you tried a different controller in case it's the controller jack has a damaged cause it happend to me the other day when i found out it was the head phone jack

If you're having trouble using the mic in chat please try these steps to see if one of them helps.

1. Mute then unmute other people in your party
2. Have other people in the party mute than unmute you
3. Power cycle the console by holding the power button on it for 10 seconds till it shuts down.
4. Delete your gamertag, powercycle the console again then redownload your gamertag

I also wanted to mention that perhaps it is an issue with the jack itself. You could try getting a headset adapter for the controller. I use one exclusively and have never had an issue as the adapter is more stable than the jack.
