Mic muted sign on/can’t game chat

Hello

Headset is not working with xbox. There is jo sound and mic symbolwith line through it in corner of screen. Was working fine until last week. I have tried all troubleshooting mentioned in previous question/answer forums where others have the same issue.
I believe it is something with the xbox itself....Controller and headset work perfectly and are updated. Any one have any recent luck with fixing this issue?

So i am having trouble finding the stero headset adapter. Do you happen to have a link of where i could purchase one? Also to note we have the xbox one s controllers. They already have a 3.5mm headphone jack. Is the adapter still needed?

Thanks for the replies. I'm sorry to hear the issue is persistent. To help clarify, have you tried a different headset and/or controller? What headset are you using?

Thank you for posting here on the Xbox forums. It would help us to know exactly what troubleshooting steps have been done so that we can try to fill in the blanks. Have you tested that headset on another compatible device? How about other controllers or
a different network.

This issue could be caused by hardware (Controller, headset, Xbox) or by the network (NAT type, firewall Config).

Let us know the details, and we will try our best to figure this one out for you.

Hey there Nessy!

Well, that's a troubleshooting step that we suggest that you haven't tried yet that could help. We had a large update recently that led to a number of headsets not working and for that incident, using an adapter worked as a good work around.

As for what you asked @Chris a little earlier, the NAT for any communication function through the Xbox is preferred to be Open. A lot of people who have 'moderate' or 'strict' are more likely to have problems communicating through Live.

Hi.

I have tried turning off by holding for 10 seconds then unplug. Also checked headset and mic both work in other devices. We have 2 controllers. Both are working fine. Updated and assigned to user.

What do you mean by different network? I did go to network and cleared the alternet MAC address. I did a reset. I feel like the problem is somewhere in a setting on xbox?? When i go to controller settings. It will not let me select volume either. I have
tried mute unmute when trying to start party. I have changed setting for user to adult.

What should the NAT setting be on?

it was working fine last Friday...so 4 days not working. I did not change any settings or firewall configs.
