    Headset: Can hear friends, but mic won't detect my voice. Tried 2 headsets. Kinect mic works!

    Also, if I record a voice message, Xbox says no mic detected; check to see if your mic is muted.

    It's NOT muted!

    Mic muted

    Hi, the muted muc icon appears in the top right of the screen and there's no audio in or out of the headphones. I have tried all settings, bought a new headset and various controllers but nothing seems to work. Occasionally when turning the console off /
    on, the symbol changes to un-muted but switches back to muted in a matter of seconds. Please can someone help? I have spent a fortune on new headsets and controllers and nothing seems to work?

    Is the headset mic muted? There should be a switch to unmute it. If not, could it be a communication ban? Nothing like that happened, right?

    How to get uncombanned

    Chances are you're not comm banned at all. My guess is either you accidentally muted yourself, either in the party or on your physical mic or that you have a loose cable/your mic broke.
