    Mic Mute issue on XBox


    I searched and have seen this issue posted about before, but nothing recently. I have this issue with both of my XBox's...we can hear game sound through the head phones however the microphone does not work. I have tested the headset, have tried multiple
    headsets, have tried multiple controllers...nothing works.

    I have tried some of the fixes I have read about here (resetting console by disconnecting power, have checked parental controls, and have checked to make sure that audio is turned on).

    Seeing as this issue has been reported in the past many times how do we not have a fix for this yet. This just happened to me this week and on both XBox's and it's completely frustrating because I am not able to play with friends.

    Someone please let me know how to fix this. Thank you in Advance!

    Thanks for reaching out here in Xbox Forums. I understand there is an issue with the mute icon on the home dashboard of the Xbox. If the system has the icon present, the Xbox system is not reading the accessory.



    I recommend taking a look at the following troubleshooting articles:

    Hi there,

    Can you go into Settings > Kinect & devices > Devices & accessories > click the three dots, and check the the headset is listed on the left please. If you can plug it into a mobile phone to confirm the mic works too, and if you can test another controller.
    If those are OK, and you have done a bunch of troubleshooting you can try a soft factory reset , which will keep your games and
    apps and reset the system only. Hopefully something here will help fix your problem.

    Headset: Can hear friends, but mic won't detect my voice. Tried 2 headsets. Kinect mic works!

    Also, if I record a voice message, Xbox says no mic detected; check to see if your mic is muted.

    It's NOT muted!

    Hello

    Finally i did the soft reset .. and still have the issue :(

    The xbox reboot showed the welcome display ... and the mic muted icon still was there ... not sure what other action i can do ..

    (the muted mic icon is on , even without a controller still connect to the xbox)

    this is like triying to kill deadpool ... cant see any solution for this .. and we cant play any multiplayer game with mic ..
