    Mic Monitoring not working

Just got the new Xbox One S and a Hyper X Cloud CORE headset. Even with mic monitoring turned up all the way, I can barely hear a whisper of myself in the headset. Otherwise the headset it working perfectly, game and music volume is loud, I can hear others
talk. I also verified the mic was working by leaving a voice message and replaying it, it comes through loud and clear. I was under the impression the mic monitoring would work for any stereo headset when plugged into the new 3.5mm jacks, is this not the
    case?

    :)

Mic Monitor for new XB1 Headsets

yes, but not every headset has mic monitoring. All the people that bought xo fours / xo sevens for their headsets doesn't have mic monitoring. so the option would be nice.

Is it like this for all headphones? Or just this particular set?

I only have the one set that has a mic so not sure. I'll try to test with a friends headset next time I have a chance.

  6. There may be some cases of incompatibility between the new 3.5mm jacks and older model headsets. I've heard of others having this problem and using the old controller adapters instead of the built in jacks and fixing the issue, but it's unconfirmed. I personally
still use the controller adapter and would recommend it over the built in jacks but that's just preference.

Yeah I'd hate to order the adapter and then still not have it work. It's strange because if was compatibility issue I would expect it to not work at all.... but the way it is right now it sort of works.... if the mic monitoring slider is say a 10 point scale
of volume, I'm getting 0 is 0 and 10 is like 2 for output.

    Mic Monitoring not working

I had this same issue with a set of Turtle Beaches (X12's) that I used with my Xbox 360. When I upgraded to the one and tried to use the 3.5 jack on the controller, it didn't work quite right. Speech was soft and talk back (monitoring) was almost non-existent.
I grabbed the adapter and it fixed my problem right away. I've since upgraded to the Turtle Beach 800 Elites and they work great...downside, pricey. I know you don;t want to spend the money on a guess but, it worked for me and it's around 20 bucks.

  9. I'm having this exact same issue where I don't hear anything or it's REALLY faint so other sounds block it out. I'm curious what you mean by using the adapter? To my knowledge the Mic Monitoring only works (and shows up in the settings) if you are using
one of the new controllers that have the 3.5mm jack. I have a Turtle Beach single ear headset and didn't hear anything. I then went and bought a brand new TB x50 and honestly didn't hear anything more, I heard more of myself through my head (the hollow sound
you get when wearing headphones) considering these blocked out most of the eternal sound. I did the same thing had all my settings maxed out and at one point maxed out the volume on the headset as well. I personally want the Mic Monitoring so I can plug in
my Elgato Chat cord to get my voice returned into the Elgato HD60.
