Mic Monitor for new XB1 Headsets

I talked to turtle beach support and they told me that they are developing a headset adapter on their own that can support mic monitoring and bass boost etc. It is going to be included in their new xbox one headset "XO one"

I asked the if it can be used with the XO four, Seven and ATLAS and if they will sell it seperatly but on those questions they would not answer. :-(

I hope they will !! I'm sick of buying expensive stuff that wont work how it should these days -_-

i bought them yesterday (7/26) and i love the audio quality of the XO sevens, especially it being wireless at the same time. theyre really comfortable too. The only two issues i have with them is a. they arent backwards compatible (which isnt a huge deal,
especially since Destiny is coming soon, which i have to say, im really hyped) and b. theyre isnt mic monitoring. I find it really annoying that i can only hear myself at the back of my throat. Microsoft and/or Turtle Beach should address customers/fans on
whether or not this problem can be fixed as soon as they can

I tried the Turtlebeach XO4 and sent them back to Amazon.co.uk. Totally frustrating not being able to hear your own voice clearly. You would have thought Microsoft would have patched this by now rather than every new update trying to turn the dashboard into
some sort of Facebook wannabe.

 

I bought the official Xbox One Headset and was happy with the sound quality and comfort for the price but just could not stand it for the mic. I never had a headset on my 360 that did not have mic monitoring. Thought it was the standard. Seems like such
a simple thing. Not being able to hear what your saying feels strange.

I ended up taking them back and put the money towards the more expensive Titanfall Ear Force Atlas headset as suggested on the previous page of this thread by Bio Bone Screw. I took his advice and got the 3.5 audio cable extension. It worked like a charm.
Because of the inline amp and hooking it up how he describes you can get mic monitoring to work. The only con is now you are wired instead of being wireless or nearly wire free with just plugging into the controller. Hope they can patch this someday. If I
am not in a party and don't need to talk I can just plug in directly to the controller and eliminate some of the wires.

The Titanfall Ear Force Atlas is a nice headset though. It looks cool, I am pretty happy with it and it comes with all the stuff I can use to hook it up to my 360 and PC for when I play there. The sound is good and deeper than the Xbox One Headset but was
hoping for just a bit more volume. It gets fairly loud but not as loud as I thought. Could of just been the game I was playing.

 

UPDATE: Having issues with this setup as I described above. It does not seem as reliable as I hoped. Mic is not working now while I was playing Titanfall. Getting sound just fine through the headset and can even hear myself speaking(mic monitoring) but other
players are not hearing me. Was hoping this would work. MS really needs to fix this so it works though that expensive adapter. Frustrating.....

 

Microsoft, please add mic monitoring to the next update. As many other have already stated, my XO7 headset is most frustrating to use when trying to chat with others.

Makes me consider switching to the PS4.

Anyone, are they going to include Mic monitoring in the next patch?

 

mic monitoring happens in the headphones themselves. It's not the adapter, FYI. My Astro A50 MM works fine on the X1. So, this is probably just the way the headphones were designed. They get their audio from the controller rather than wirelessly straight
from a mixamp like the Astros / TB ones.

I doubt there is a way to update the headphones to include this.

 

I contacted MS support regarding Mic monitoring, they said that the XB1 is capable of this function they just need to update the controller and console. No time frame given.

 

Just got the xo7 headset today and was really thrown off by it not having mic monitoring, hopefully they patch it in soon because it is really annoying without it.
