Mic Issues - EasySMX Cool 2000

I have had this mic for about a year now, and it has worked just fine with amazing quality. However, over the last few weeks, the mic has been having issues. At first, it was only random, short disconnects, but now it just doesn't work at all. The headset
in general works perfectly, yet the mic seems to not pick up any noise unless the cord is in a VERY specific position. I have neither yanked at the cord nor has anybody in my household messed with it. I have checked all over the cord for any deformities/cuts,
but nothing is there. The cord is in perfect condition. Might there be anything wrong? Also, I have tried resetting my XBox and trying it on a different controller. Same results.

Unfortunately, this one does not have a detatchable cord, and there are no electricians in the area that can do that as far as I know. We may have to buy a new one. These aren't too expensive, so it won't be too bad. Thank you though.

even though you haven't done anything to damage the cord, the fact that it only works with the wire is a specific position, it sounds as if the core wire for the mic has a small break in it. this can happen for a variety of reasons, one of them being general
use over a long time.

some headsets have detachable cords so you might be able to simply buy a replacement cord. if yours doesn't have a detachable cord and has the wire permanently connected then you might be able to find a local electrician who can replace the wire, but that
is a very long shot.

The manual for the Cool 2000 headset shows that you will need to connect both the USB to the Xbox One, AND using the "Y" Splitter cable, connect the headset to the controller. If you have the older (Original) Xbox One controller then you will need the headset
adapter.

When you are killed by a player or die, you pay $500 dollars for "hospital bills". I understand that $2000 was a steep bill to pay, but you saw more "cool/friendly" players when it was that high. Now, all I see is d-bags, jerks, and trolls. So now when they
lose $2000 dollars maybe they will learn to leave me alone.
