Mic isn't picking up any game audio, but is fine in party chat.

So, I don't know why my mic/controller is doing this, but I recently bought a new controller and my mic isn't playing any game audio through it. I've connected it to other controllers and my mic does play game audio through those other controllers, but not
my new one. Party chat seems to work fine on the new one tho which is weird. Also when I look at the settings for the Mic, it doesn't show mixer under it's audio settings on the new controller, but it does appear on my old ones. So I'm not sure what's happening
with it, or if the new controller is just defective, cause it worked earlier until I disconnected my mic from it.

Mic appears to be stuck on mute.

Everything works other then me being able to talk to people in party/game chat. I can still hear everyone just fine but it isn't picking up what I say. I noticed while playing a game that my Mic symbol is showing that I have my mic muted despite me not having
the mute set on the plug in part. Any solutions?

Need help with this

My xbox doesn't seem to be picking up any mics I have. I have 3 controllers and they are all working fine. I plug my mics in them and I can hear myself but the mic icon isn't there in the party chat or anything else. I went into privacy and made sure the
voice chat was on to everyone. Whats the problem?

Have you checked in the Xbox Accessories app if the newly bought controller has the most up to date firmware? Maybe the controller was sitting on a store shelf for a long time, and missed several firmware updates.

Party chat should work fine whilst broadcasting. The broadcast will only pick up your mic from the party though.

Ok, perhaps I didn't explain clearly. The game audio from my game, which sounds fine before I join chat, is rerouted somehow when I party up, and the quality of the game audio drops to sound *as bad as* someone else's TV coming through their mic into the chat - but it's still the audio from my game.

When I use my Xbox headset through the Xbox wireless adapter dongle everything is fine.

So the buds, which are essentially the same as my Xbox headset - some speakers and a mic - are unable to treat the game audio and the chat audio as separate and play them simultaneously without weirdly mashing them together into a horrible mess. There shouldn't be any "interference" in the game audio at all, the buds have to do is play it straight form the source, and they do - until I join a party. The game audio returns to normal if I leave the party. This would suggest that I don't have the Xbox chat app, bluetooth settings, mic settings, playback settings or all of them incorrectly configured, which is what I was initially hoping for some pointers on.
