Mic icon showing up when not plugged in

    Mic icon showing up when not plugged in


    While playing Destiny I noticed that an icon was showing that a mic was plugged in when I did not have a mic in. I don't have a kinect and I'm not sure what the issue is. What could be an explanation and possible solution for making my Xbox bnt pick up that
    a mic is in when it isn't ?

    Xbox One Chat headset not working properly with Forza Horizon 3

    Well I plugged in my controller via usb cable and headset into the controller. The mic icon still doesn't light up in game when I speak and I must plug in the mic in game for the icon not to be crossed out, other than that the chat headset worked fine just
    now. Hope it stays that way Mic icon showing up when not plugged in :)

    That icon usually shows up when the controller can't detect a mic. If the troubleshooting does not work the controller is probably the culprit

    XBOX One S Mic suddenly stopped working

    Hi Brad,

    I’ve tried the standard Xbox headset which plugs in via the adapter port (bypassing the 3.5mm) and whilst the dashboard shows it recognising the headset being plugged in via the top right icon showing a little image of a headset, the mic still doesnt work.
    Its as though the mic is completely disabled on the console...

    How many find this disturbing or ever noticed this?

    If I'm playing a game online and I see that someone has the mic icon lit up but they aren't responding to me, I just assume they don't have their mic on at that moment or they don't want to talk to me lol. Not a big deal imo to have the mic icons show up...........
