    Help I can hear myself when I plug in mic to xbox controller the mic is earphone. Also my friend can't hear me on the party but I can hear him. Help I had the earphones for nearly a year and it also worked perfectly.

    Mic help -.-.....

    So for the past few days, my mic decided to die on me. Not the headset part but the mic itself. I am still able to hear everyone in my party just fine but I am unable to communicate with them except through short texts, and emojis. So I borrowed a friends
    controller thinking it was this, and not the headset. The one that I use is an Xbox One Stereo headset, and I use via an adapter. So I plug the headset in the new controller, and I get the same result. I go through my settings everything is fine. I go to my
    controls, nothing is muted. I even tried using the Xbox One app for the pc and trying to use a usb headset no dice. I even cycled my Xbox. Would anyone happen to know if this is a fault with the Xbox, or am I just using bad headsets/controllers?

    Hey there Ratchet!

    It sounds like you were able to rule out your controller as being the issue. It sounds like the issue may lie with either the adapter or your headset itself. Are you able to borrow a friend's headset to test it on your controller and adapter? If that works,
    that'd indicate that the issue is with your headset, unfortunately. If it's out of the warranty period, replacing the headset would be the easier solution.

    Give that a shot and let us know. :)

    Ahh okay. You didn't mention having tried any troubleshooting tips in your original post so I wasn't sure and that guide is the place to start anyways. Do you have another Xbox One controller that you can test your headset/mic on? What kind of mic is it?

    I do not have an extra controller and it's the stereo headset by Microsoft

    Hey there Euda!

    I'm sorry to hear about the mic issues. I recommend running through the steps listed on the

    headset/mic troubleshooter     to start with. If you have another controller, try using your headset on that controller as well to see what happens.
