Mic Headset Not Working - Any suggestions?

My Mic headset had recently gone out 2 weeks ago. It's working fine except that the mic is not picking up sound. The base of the headset can toggle the mute button and when I press the volume buttons it makes the notification that I reached the highest volume
level. The problem comes when I'm about to join a party and the sound is not being picked up. I tried power-cycling my xbox one, re-assigning the mic to the controller, and cleaning out the xbox one controller but nothing seems to work. You guys have any idea
what else I could do?

xbox headset mic will not work

i got a brand new xbox one headset and the mic is not working. i can hear other people but my mic not picking up any sound .

Hello JUGGERNAUT,

We have two of the Xbox One Stereo Headsets with Adapters and both sets work well. So, I have to ask, are you referring to the standard Xbox One Chat Headset, Xbox One Stereo Headset or some other manufacturers headset? The reason I ask is it would be helpful to
know if you are using an Xbox One Headset Adapter and what kind. In the mean time, double check that when you have the headset plugged into the controller, the Xbox automatically recognize the compatible headset. And, in doing so it automatically makes Headset
volume, Headset chat volume and Mic monitoring settings available right at the > Settings menu directly off the Home screen (kind of cool isn't it). At the top of the list of headset controls you will see Headset mic Off/On. Make sure Headset mic is set to
On. This might be conflicting with the Adapter mute button. Also, it might be worth checking your Privacy settings again, > Setting > All settings
> Personalization > My profile > Privacy settings > View details & customize > Communication & multiplayer > Others can communicate with voice, text, or invites . Lets us know if you continue to have problems with your microphone or headset.

Do you have any suggestions for a microphone that works from the controller port? He already has gaming headsets but wanted a separate mic

Thanks for responding. I've tried the suggestions already with no success. The system is an xbox 1s. It is a wired headset connected to the controller. I've tried multiple headsets with multiple controllers. I have sound for both the games and other people in the chat but the mic is not working for any of the headsets, one of which is brand new. Thanks for any help with this.

Can we assume they don't work with any inline mic headsets? Or, 3rd party in general? I also opened a case # 1237899817 opened. They suggested to get more people to call it in.

Henlo!! Im from xbox ambassadors.

From what I've learned with mics over the years is that sometimes the jack inside a controller will bend or create creases that the mic input will adapt to. Which is potientially why your mic wont work with the new controllers. I would suggest taking any
other headset or earbuds and see if they work. If you dont have any laying around the house you could go by walmart, get the cheapest headset and keep the receipt. If they work, the problem was the headphones.
