Mic/controller problem

please please help me (before I throw my sons Xbox one). He has been having problems with his controller/headset. It keeps coming up saying mic not found. We have bought numerous headsets and controllers. He is adamant that it is his headset or controller
but I can't see how as when we swap everything over it still doesn't work. We have a wired and wireless controller and two different headsets. The "thingy" (nat) is open?? Any advice would be appreciated

Controller mic problem

So I just got a controller, when plugging in the headset mic it shows on the game that the mic is plugged in (playing b ops 2 and the speaker sign shows up when plugging in headset). When I talk however my voice doesn't go thru and my friends can't hear
me. When I send a message to myself however my voice picks up in the message but its very quiet. I know it's not my headset because when I plug it into another controller it works fine.

Controller mic problem

what controller you using wired or wireless? if it works on the other controller use it, the new controller you got take it back and get a new one and say to them its not working for the mic. so if that helps you out buddy, or see if any stuff is in controller

Sorry to hear about the headset troubles! Does your son have the chatpad adapter in between the headset and controller or is he plugging directly into the controller? If there's an adapter in between in may be worth trying the headset with a controller that
doesn't need the adapter, or test a different adapter.

My mic usually has the same problem, but my Xbox Controller's mic port is causing the problem. Either the controller mic port could be their issue, the mic plug-in cord, or the mic in general. Feedback has also had issues with constant screeches.

to fix the problem with all wired controllers, simply unplug the mic and controller, then plug the MIC in first, then plug the controller back in. Worked for me. Hopefully it works for you.

same problem. even tried re-calibrating the controller but i cant do it with mic plugged in because the controller wont turn on. not sure if its the controller or the mic but im super confused.

I think this is a hardware issue rather than a connection issue. If it was your connection the party would read "Disconnected" I would personally try to barrow another controller and another mic from a friend and try them vice versa with your controller
and mic (mic 1 with controller 2, controller 1 with mic 2, and controller 2 with mic 2).

not much of a fix but I had similar problem all the time when I get disconnected and reconnected to party chat usually turning off controller n turning on again can fix it, but could be a different problem try using different hardware mic n controller and
see if that helps.
