Mic Constantly Stuck On Mute

Help! I am trying to fit my sons Xbox one so he can play with a headset. This was always working but now I can not get the mic mute off. I go into start a party and it says device not connected and then just takes us to the remote configuration. I have checked
privacy settings and communicate is set to allow.

Could this be a software issue I need to somehow follow up with Microsoft?

Thanks everyone for the responses. After contacting Microsoft is seems its a fault with the controllers. Have had these replaced and am back on track

Hi Renee,

If you have followed everyone's suggestions and nothing seems to be working then you will need to contact customer support as someone else mentioned and inquire about replacing that controller since it's very likely the issue is with the 3.5mm port on the
controller if you can confirm the headset works on another device like a laptop or mobile device.

Select Xbox One
Select See other options
Select Payment & Billing
Select show contact options and go to step 4
Select request a call from support if available or there should be a number for you to call

check the connection between the plug and controller - also if it's not an official xbox headset, please check with the manufacturer for updates.

Have you tried other headsets to make sure it's not just the headset or even the controller jack itself?
