    Mic connectivity issues in parties but not in-game


    I'm having a problem with my mic when it comes to parties and games. So for some reason whenever I join or create a party the "We were unable to find a microphone for these people" alert pops up even though It's the same mic I've been using for over a year
    and had no problems up until now with. I can still hear through it and it also pops up in the accessories app as a connected device, even shows the headset icon in the top right of my menu. I tested it through discord to see if the mic itself is the problem
    but it gets picked up and works as if nothing's wrong.

    The annoying part is the fact that my mic is working in-game, even if I'm in a party the mic still activates in-game just completely disregarding the party. I messaged one of my friends about this and he said he had the same problem a while back and he doesn't
    remember what happened to cause it or how it was fixed. The only thing I can think of that caused this is the fact that I updated the controller through the accessories app since the last time I joined a party and the controller may not be able to support
    the mic now, but I don't see this as being possible since it still plays audio through and I can still hear my voice through the monitoring.

    If anyone has any idea on why this is happening or anyway to fix it, please let me know.

    I'm just trying to game with the boys.

    i have the same issue, is your NAT open? and does it show that your mic is connected in party chat or is there no mic icon?

    I think this is a hardware issue rather than a connection issue. If it was your connection the party would read "Disconnected" I would personally try to barrow another controller and another mic from a friend and try them vice versa with your controller
    and mic (mic 1 with controller 2, controller 1 with mic 2, and controller 2 with mic 2).

    For the Mic issue. It may not be your problem, Certain people have connection issues that are disconnecting the chat with your party overtime they join your party. You must leave the party and then invite them to your party and make sure that you are party
    leader and that the connection is good before inviting the other members of the party. Close the party and if they still can't hear you ask them to unplug the mic holder from the controller and unplug the wire from the xbox. if the wire is not plugged into
    the xbox then they need to install their controller and their headset to the xbox one.

    First and foremost, did you check the mic's connection with the controller or, if the setup is there, your console? Second, if it is a controller, try another controller and see if the issue persists. Third, try another mic. Of these 2, you'll rule out a controller and/or mic issue.

    As for getting kicked from a party, confirm that one, you were not kicked by the party host. Two, your NAT is not strict, because some scrict connections will cause this. Three, your connection in general is not weak or patchy (run a connection test in Network Settings). Four, you don't have a communication restriction on your account.

    not much of a fix but I had similar problem all the time when I get disconnected and reconnected to party chat usually turning off controller n turning on again can fix it, but could be a different problem try using different hardware mic n controller and
    see if that helps.
