    i recently bought a new headset for my xbox one s and for the first day, I was able to make it work fine. I was able to talk to my friends in game and I was able to hear them fine as well. However, the following day the mic was not working. The audio was
    fine, but I wasn't able to get the mic to work again. I used skype to test and it also said the mic was not working and to change the settings. I decieded to test the mic on my laptop and used skype again, and it worked perfectly fine. I dont know if someone
    messed with my settings, since i do let my siblings play as well, and i dont think the controller is the problem, since i just bought it two weeks ago. Ive been playing around with the settings but it does not seem to work. I know my mic isn't the problem
    because it does work, it just doesnt seem to work on my console.

    edit: I tried skype on my xbox again and I was able to hear my voice when testing the mic, but it still does not work in game.

    It's like it used to record from the mic and from the audio sent to the headset and audio sent to the speakers but now its the mic and only the audio output selected in the sound setting in the system tray on the windows task bar.

    Not really you have to buy a separate mic for audio and thnt you have to buy a chat link just to get party audio just so much extra and if you wanna mute all your audio you have to mute your mic on your headset and then your extra mic.

    I doubt getting an answer for my hi-fi headphone - attachable mic - microsoft adapter problem as posted above. It probably would not work anyway. Maybe a compromise solution could be: PC headset with two 3.5mm jacks (audio + mic). The audio jack to the DAC,
    mic jack to the adapter.

    This might be the only way to get chat audio to the headset while maintaining superior game audio from the DAC. Check out the forthcoming Audio Technica ATH ADG1 PC headset.

    your bluetooth headset with mic is designed for audio and talking via bluetooth, the cable that you can plug into your headset and then to the controller only enables audio not mic. lots of bluetooth headsets and headphones are the same, the option to plug in a cable is for audio only.
