MGSV TPP Opinions

Hello regulars that managed to find the forums. I have performed Zero research on this game until now and have realized it's a full game and none of that ground zeroes nonsense. The differences between the xb1/ps4 version is so minimal I'll be getting
the Xb1 release. Have people already commented with opinions? if so than lock me, otherwise. I was a huge fan of the PS2 releases, in fact I own a Beta MGS3 Solid snake on disc, I think I'm going to enjoy this. Anything I should know? I just thought this title
would be all over the forums but even the psn forums are blank. For people who have this, let us know what you think, it looks stunning tbh.

Have you tried installing
MGSV: TPP Update Data Ver 1.10? Give that a shot and let us know if that helps out! If the issue persists, please let us know if you see an error code such as 0x00000000 so we can further narrow down. Thanks!

 

Bought it really looking forward to it and swopped it for Mad Max after four days of trying to enjoy it. Just found it boring and wasn't feeling it at all. Maybe it gets better once you leave Afghanistan.....

I preferred Ground Zero personally, said in the other thread they should have done a Snakeater update rather than PP. Just my opinion though, others seem to be liking it.

 

Not played it myself Red but check link below. I'm not sure if it's fixed yet but there was/is an issue with a save corruption bug. Tells you how to avoid it.

Prologue was really good though.....

 

Played every metal gear solid prior to the phantom pain and really enjoyed them, came back looking for that metal gear experience and after a week was still not feeling it. I did the same as Genchy, got rid and got mad max.

I may be wrong but it seems to me the people who are raving about it, havent followed metal gear or are new to the series. MGS4 was briliant and i couldnt put it down, finished it about 5am back then as i was hooked, MGSV is just not what i know and loved.

Funny because I am the opposite to most as haven't really played much MGS before so wasn't expecting to enjoy this but am really into it, though I am not a fan of the bizarre story

 

Wait, What? The reviews have been above average, not that I agree with reviews. Could Hideo really screw this up? Well I'm going to buy it, Not the digital cost of $109 (I'm serious) but the disc version for $69.

 

The gameplay is fun. Story is subpar. There are 157 side missions with about 7 different types, so you'll be doing each type about 20 times. If you loved the old games you'll probably love this. I personally wouldn't say this game was as good as reviews
made it out to be. Definitely didn't deserve a single 10/10.

 

Never particularly liked the Metal Gear franchise. Played a little of M.G.S.5: Ground Zeroes (Hey! It was FREE!) then watched my friend with The Phantom Pain (For about a hour.) and still am not a convert. To each their own.

Agree with 24 the reviews for this were well overrated.

 

I'm going with the basis of being a fan of the series, still getting it. And yes game reviews have always been a joke imo, you've got the laughable Forbes reviews from non-gamers vs the Gspot,, i mean game stop and IGN that are more interested in sales.
I've never had a MGS I've disliked, I think I'll be ok with it.

 

I didn't enjoy Ground Zeroes all that much so I doubt I'll be buying The Phantom Pain anytime soon. My favourite was Metal Gear Solid 2. None of the others I felt were all that great.
