Metro Exodus Game Pass version stopped starting, does not start even after 2 reinstalls

My XBox Game Pass version of Metro Exodus stopped working one day. What happens at launch is that I can see a Metro process in Task Manager, which takes 14 Megabytes of memory, but does not do anything. I don't get any visible feedback from the app at
any point.

The only thing I remember doing between successful and failed launch attempts was the installation of Razer's mouse software.

I have tried doing a Reset and Repair in Windows Apps and Features for all Xbox related apps (as well as for Metro itself, but that was a mistake, don't try that, for a while I could neither start, uninstall or reinstall Metro). I have disabled or closed
any other apps that some people have said "to cause problems" (like the Razer software).

Also:

- no updates available in Windows Updates

- latest Nvidia graphics drivers installed

- firewall on/off makes no difference

- starting as admin makes no difference

- logging out/in in the XBox app or website makes no difference

- reinstalling the "gaming services" (https://support.xbox.com/en-US/games/game-setup/troubleshoot-games-windows-10) makes no difference

I also enabled "Microsoft Content" in the "Account info privacy settings" under "Choose which apps can access your account info". This has helped some people but it did not help me.

It works with the mouse, that I know. I already deleted the game but for your benefit I'll install it again (takes a couple of evenings) and uninstall the Razer software. I am 99% sure it won't work though.

Sorry to hear it. You say you closed the razer software but I'm wondering if there's a conflict between the game and mouse software. Could you please try deleting the razer software then launch the game again to see if that works?

Another thing to try would be to use a different mouse, you never know.

Ok so I've tried reloading Metro Exodus a couple of times. I don't like to keep my PC on during the day while I'm away and my internet connection is slow, so it takes a while. The first time around I was up to 70% in the download but when I resumed downloading
the next day it started at 10%. Sometime later I was up to 60% or so and the next day download was resumed from 0%. I got tired at this point.

I started downloading Shadow Warrior 2 instead. It is now downloading again but there was a point earlier today when XBox App thought I don't have it on my PC at all and it only offered me the "Install" button. Clicking that would result to no action. It
was taking up space on my hard-drive though. After restarting the PC it once again realised that I have it on my PC and resumed the download from the right point.

Looks very unstable at the moment.

So far rough start for game pass for me. Metro exodus deleted twice so far! Just starting my third installation , and restart of the game 🤬

The Metro series quests are NOT apart of the Game Pass quests. Metro Exodus is not included in Game Pass, so that quest is not applicable when it comes to completing "Game Pass quest master" quest. I verified this through offical support, and checking
that it does not show up in the applicable quests in the Game Pass app on iOS or Android.

The Metro Exodus quest is just a seperate bonus promoting Metro Exodus, 2033, and Last Light. You do not need to complete it to finish the Game Pass quests.
