Metro Exodus crashing/freezing and not saving progress.

The only thing I can recommend trying that may work is the generic workaround that tends to work for everything.

Uninstall the game. Go into the storage settings of the Xbox and chose to clear the local cache. Reinstall the game. That may work, it normally does for most problems in a large variety of games. (It supposed to clear up console memory so it can "think"
faster.)

There doesn't appear to be a permanent, guaranteed way to fix this. Sometimes doing a uninstall/reinstall/hard reset will fix it, but many times it doesn't appear that it does. The only other thing I can think is to directly contact the Publisher/Developer
(Deep Silver and 4A Games) and tell them about the issues and ask them what's being done about it, and if they can offer any advice on what you can do in the meantime until it is patched.

I started Metro Exodus and this is one of the reasons why I'm afraid to try to complete it until all of this is fixed. I'm sorry you're having to deal with this.

Unfortunately, this is an optimisation issue i here many people having there are some generic work arounds but they don't always work.
