Metro 3?

I know that the Metro games are based off the book and all so im not sure how big that series is, but do you think we'll ever see a 3rd Metro game? Or will it just end with Last Light?

I absolutely loved the first two games, especially Last Light so it would be awesome to see the series carried over to next gen consoles!

big metro fan loved both 2033 and last light more metro is great cant wait

 

I still have yet to get to the second because of that whole "let's lock out hard mode" deal.

 

^^ Same here. That's the only reason I didn't buy it and I had it pre-ordered.

 

I honestly don't know how people like these games so much. These games are as linear as it gets and they're literally on rails (hence the name metro) The story amounts to reality television of a post apocalyptic world in Russia. Kill the strategically placed
mutants or bad guys, then end that run with the 'throw it all at me at once' event. Rinse and repeat. I'm about 10 hours into Last Light and honestly I can't wait for it to end. The first one was also tightly linear as well with one basic enemy (variations
of that go unnoticed) made it feel very repetitive. They don't even hold a candle to more open world games like FC3 or Skyrim. Everyone's got their opinion.

 

The games still have a Hard difficulty, the "Ranger Mode" is the same thing has the Hard mode except with highly rationed ammo. Which in my opinion isnt even fun anyway haha.

I definitely wouldnt let that drive you away from missing a great game.

And in reply to Truth, to eaches own I guess. The game isnt an open world but its still a great action/horror survival that breaks away from the run of the mill FPS's these days. I actually thought the stories were great.

I think Issacs point is the game locked Hard mode out unless you like preordered the game

wow, that was a very long post for someone saying "i don't care for linear games".

and how is the story "reality television of a post post apocalyptic world in Russia"? what does that even mean? the first game was about struggling to surviving in a irradiated world underground filled with mutant monsters and facing the apparent threat of
a new race of creatures with psychic powers,who are actually just trying to say hello and help humanity...

Oh, I didnt know it locked out the Hard mode too. I got lucky and just happened to find a copy at walmart the other day with the pre-order content inside still lol!

I know Ranger mode was the locked thing though, but if Hard is locked too thats a pretty weird move.

no...well, maybe probably...i'm just that most of your arguments and like 3/4 of your op could have been summed up by the fact that you don't enjoy linear games. there's really no reason for you to have come into this thread if all you wanted to do is ***

I'd love to see a new Metro game with current gen technology. I really enjoyed the first two a lot. Especially the second one.

 

If there is another Metro game in the future, I would like to see something along the lines of a prequel. A story that shows what events took place that they were forced into the Metro and how the war with Germany (4th Reich) from the 2nd game. And during
this what happened to the US or the rest of Europe? Were they involved? It would be cool to see some kind of a back story to the games.

 

well, they could do a metro 2034 game, though i'm not sure how it'll translate as a sequel to both games since it's a sequel to just 2033...also there's no english translation of the novel yet, that i'm aware of.
