Metal Gear Looks A Bit Pants

I got the rolling covered now Az, thanks to Shiguri! I paid £22 at Sainsburys for mine!

I can get So Solid Snake to thrown himself on the floor like a child who's been told he can't have an ice cream... but I ain't rolled yet.

I seriously felt myself aging as I listened to Paz's tapes. Holy crap that was worse than the intro to "Tekken 7" which went on for so long the XBox 360 Screen saver kicked in.

It was worse than listening to Enya.

But when I finally got to the game itself I was really surprised and impressed.

It was all very "Splinter Cell" without the perpetual re-loading of the last checkpoint that made the early games in that series such a chore.

Managed to complete the main story without having to reload any checkpoints despite the controls learning curve that saw me releasing RT after sneaking up behind someone (which results in So Solid Snake letting them go and have a bit of a yell) and learning
that the bar next to my ammunition count was actually the integrity of my suppressor steadily degrading so that my stealth shots suddenly made loud bangs.

All in all I had much more fun than I thought I would and I'm liable to have more to come.

I was a really thoughtful So Solid Snake and had collected my own little village worth of hostages to liberate.

Unfortunately since "MSGVGZ" is a game for the l33t it wasn't very clear how I was supposed to get them on the heilicopter and I ended up chucking most of them (unintentionally really) off the cliff.

Thankfully I figured out what to do by the time it got to putting Chico and Paz on the chopper.

 

@azreal,if the only game you played was metal gear rising then I fully understand why you don't think much of mgs.That game has to be the most boring horrible game I've ever tried,only played the demo and my god what a load of crap so not what mgs was about,its
closer to golden axe than mgs imo.

But mgs gz is the best stealth game I've played since splinter cell chaos theory and its gonna slice the head off of any stealth competition,splinter cell im looking you!!!!.

 

Thanks to Shiguri and others for the heads up about MGS HD game collection chaps, I started playing Snake Eater and it’s an absolutely cracking game. I can’t believe how much depth it has for a game of its age. Clunky controls but the gameplay itself
is cracking! Nice one! After playing a bit of Snake and the new MGS GZ I cannot wait for the Phantom Pain its gone into my list of most anticipated.

PS it puts resolutiongate into perspective as well, it’s all about the gameplay!

 

Play peace walker, preferably in coop. Amazing fun

 

HD Collection is pretty good! I finished up MGS Liberty on the HD collection. Well worth the price and there doesn't seem to be any problems with the port, unlike other HD collections *looks at Silent Hill HD*

 

^ That's because the port was done by Bluepoint Games whose work is always AAA, they did the God of War HD collection and Ico/Shadow of the Colossus HD games too, all of which are done extremely well, they're porting Titanfall on 360 too so I expect that
will be up to their already high standard.

 

Well that explains the difference in quality. God of War was a good saga (I owned a PSP for a small while) and I'm sure I played one on that. I hope if ever a resi evil HD collection is made, that the above dev is the one who works on it!
