Ok UK Hot Deals people have posted that Sainsbury's are doing some sort of offer on this when you spend so much on shopping. Sorry, not got exact details.

I still haven't played through the game yet, restarted it a few times to try out different tactics/routes etc but for me it's worth the asking price.

I just can't wait for the full version.

    :)

What games is included in Metal Gear Solid HD Collection via Games On Demand?

Yes thanks, on the Swedish version of the site it says

"Metal Gear Solid HD Collection innehåller de tre mest omtyckta Metal Gear Solid-spelen som har ommastrats i fantastisk HD" Whitch roughly translates in to:

"Metal Gear Solid HD Collection contains the three most popular Metal Gear Solid games have remastered in stunning HD."

So I was a bit confused but thanks for the answer.

Well ive been playing mgs zeroes and its been worth the money to me, nice intro to mgs 5 and the qualiy we have come to expect from the series, they where quite clear on what to expect so dont quite understand what the issue is with some people.

  6. That angry gamer clown is right what he says as he isnt a MGS fan. But to metal gear fans its more than a game you can hammer out in 10 minutes and never play again.

I had fun playing through Ground Zeroes, but as a product it felt confused, like it was unsure as to what it was really trying to be. As a prologue I felt it failed as it didn't do a great deal to set up The Phantom Pain, and as a standalone mini-game it
felt weak due to the abrupt ending and gameplay that didn't build to a decent crescendo.

Still, the core mechanics have finally gotten much needed refinement, resulting in the stealth game I always though MGS could be and wanted to be.

But yeah, it felt like a demo. It felt like someone had sliced out a level of a far bigger game and stuck it in a box with little context.

If the gameplay and slick presentation hold for the Phantom Pain, though, then I have my fingers crossed for something stellar.

    @Wolf TFD,

A little something I would like to point out, you can't really build up to a crescendo. A crescendo is a build. So building up to a crescendo actually means building up to a build up.

You're not alone though, a lot of people seem to think a crescendo is a "event" or "finish", it isn't.

My apologies, I'm aware of exactly what a crescendo is and simply typed the sentence wrong Metal Gear Looks A Bit Pants :D

Should have read: " and gameplay that didn't build a decent crescendo."

And to avoid confusion, you'll likely point out that a crescendo is a build, so why use build as a seperate word? In this case because I'm referring to an inability to construct a proper crescendo, and frankly because I prefer the way it sounds Metal Gear Looks A Bit Pants :D

I probably should have used "construct" in its place, but it's been 72-hours without sleep and my mind is somewhere between gloop and poop.

You're of course right about the meaning outside of crescendo, but to be fair outside of musical use the word has now changed considerably in its usage.

Collins Dictionary, for example, has now changed to read under the word: "a peak of noise or intensity ⇒ the cheers reached a crescendo."

Put 20+ hours into it so far and that's gone mostly into the '10 minute' main story mission. There's loads of fun to be had, the game sets challenges to be completed within the mission e.g. Fastest marking of all Enemies or Fastest killing of all enemies,
move onto hard mode and you get Fastest Completion Time, stealth, no kills or Fastest Completion Time no weapons used.

So if you get a bit creative with it you can make up your own, so far I've done drown every enemy, knife only, C4 only and smoke grenades only. Az, you asked me what makes it fun to play and things like that make it fun for me, I'm basing my fun on my experiences
with it, YMMV but for the £20 I paid it's delivered fun in spades and then some.

Well coupled with the reviews going around that's a bit more handy with regards of what to expect.

It sounds like the level design is similar to that of "Hitman" where you're free to go about your objectives as you please and able to challenge yourself and possibly others with what you've managed to achieve or pull off by fluke.

Does it have the same randoimness as "Hitman" or is it far more scripted.

Though "Hitman" certainly has its' scripted moments I was once playing the Chinese Market level and turned a corner only to be face to face with my target who was stood right next to the exit door.

I just pulled out my silenced pistol, shot him in the head and stepped out the exit fluking a load of challenges at the same time.

I'm niot suggesting "Metal Gear" is a flukey game. That's just an example of the randomness that you had in "Hitman". Do you have the same randomness in "Metal Gear" or are the guards always going to act the same way?

While this might be good fun for Metal Gear veterans I don't really feel motivated to spend £25.00 on a demo. It sounds like my first impressions were spot on but I might be interested in the full game when it's released.

Its pretty standard stealth, guard patterns are predictable, CCTV etc. Fair play to Shiguri for rinsing that amount of time out of the main mission. But I think for me once will be enough. I will have a look at the side missions tonight though. The
actual quality of the game is excellent though so as a "demo" its done its job and sold the full game to me. ps Guard AI is actually really good.

Enjoyed playing side missions tonight, starting to think this wasn't bad value after all, nothing like making a hurried escape through a hostile camp in an armoured car! Stealth factor zero!

Did you play the Jamais Vu mission yet Genchy? You need to collect all the XOF patches to unlock it, loads of fun playing as Raiden (revengeance version) taking out body snatchers in the camp, top stuff!

You been spying on me when i play it? lol, sounds like every mission i've done up to yet. I finally managed to stealth the whole mission yesterday and got the elusive (for me anyway) "S" ranking, well chuffed!

@Shigurui, thanks for that I'd been wondering how you unlocked the final mission, I had a horrible feeling that i was going to have to try & do every mission with an S ranking...
