Messaging System

I have lost the ability to send messages from my phone and my computer. It seems that the problem is involved with the profile itself than with the systems because I was able to send messages from my brother's profile without any problems. I chatted with
a representative and he said to use this number as a reference:

He recommended that I reported this problem to this forum.

Because you don't need to play mp to send just a simple message, it dosen't make any sense why they restrict sending messages via the website but you could do it on console with no problems.

it has been that way since launch to the best of my knowledge......and yes PSN is free...free to get hacked too

 

It might be worth checking the
Enforcement website to make sure you do not currently have a communications suspension on your account.

 

It says that my reputation is good. I don't see anything unusual. Am I missing something?

So that we can best help out, can you please clarify what happens when you try to send a message? Do you get an error? Keep us in the loop with what's going on.

 

On a computer I get a message that says

"An error has occurred, please try again later". I tried on 2 different laptops with the same results.

On my iphone it just gets stuck on a loading screen (where it shows a circle spinning in the middle to indicate that it is loading), but it never actually loads. Other than that on the console the messaging system works perfectly fine unless it is through
a web browser.

It used to not work through the xbox app either, but I think the recent update fixed it so that now I can send messages through the iphone app. Still no luck through the website though.

 

Which internet browser are you using?

Let's try clearing your cache and history on the browser of your choice, restart the browser, then try signing in and sending that message again. Let us know if there's any change with that If not, please try a different browser to see if that helps clear
it up.

 

The problem I don't think is with a browser. I tried internet explorer, google chrome, and mozilla firefox. I tried on 3 different computers, 2 being laptops and the third being a public computer that I can access to. I get the same problem in all of them.
It also does not work on the iphone unless it's directly through the xbox app.

Do you happen to have 2-step verification enabled on your Xbox One account? If not, let's try enabling that over on
account.microsoft.com and updating your contact number. Then try sending a message again.

 

Two-step verification has been enabled, though I'm not entirely sure how this will help.

 

I am still unable to send a message.

Have you verified your phone number with the steps over on this
Can't Send Message Troubleshooter yet? If not, please give that a try, that will often clear up this messaging issue. Let us know how it goes

 

I still got the same problem. It tells me

An error has occurred, please try again later.
Note that I have no problem with using the xbox app on the iphone. It is when I try to send messages through xbox's website from a computer or through the internet on the iphone that it doesn't work.
