Messaging system failing for extended periods of time.

First, ive googled every combination of words relating to this and have found nothing. I tried to contact xbox support but requesting a call back was "unavailable" and attempting to chat online with tech support literally would not work, so I've tried other
routes and this seems like the best place to go.

Every day for the past 3 days my xbox live outgoing messaging system shuts down for 2-3 hours. During this time attempting to send messages from my xbox simply say "message not sent" and messages sent from my phone on smartglass do absolutely nothing. I
can still receive messages, and it is extremely frustrating when im in the middle of a conversation and i suddenly have no way to tell the person on the other end that ill be out for a few hours at least. Ive restarted my router. Ive restarted my xbox. Ive
restarted my phone. ive turned them all off at once and left them off for 10 minutes before rebooting. Ive never had this issue before and i have made no changes to my internet service recently. I can still play multiplayer and even chat in the chatbox of
games such as warframe, but i lose xbox live text communication

Original Xbox 360 E74 error message- Solution

If your Xbox 360 has failed because of the E74 error, you’ll see the following message on the screen when you turn on your Original Xbox 360 console:

System Error. Contact Xbox Customer Support.
E74

If you see this error message, you must repair your console. The warranty period for the E74 error is three years from the original purchase date of the console. If the warranty period expires, you’ll have to pay for the repair.

 

today makes the 4th day in a row, just lost messaging again

 

There is a limit on how many messages you can send per day.Not sure what the amount is but maybe you are reaching it.

 

im going to be truely disappointed if this is the case. the best friend i have through xbox currently does not have xbox live gold, so that is our only way to communicate. i can understand a limit to people who arent your friends but i find it hard to believe
they would not just limit messages to someone who you have favorited as well as having me favorited, but also not have the decency to tell me that im at my limit instead of just telling me it wasnt sent. im not saying youre wrong but this just doesnt sound
proper at all.

 

I just know there is a limit but not entirely sure how it works.
