Messaging not working on xbox One S

Got a new xbox one S at christmas and cannot get messages to work. They work fine on our 360 but have never worked on the one S. I have tried contacting microsoft support and they could not get it to work either. Has anyone seen this and resolved it?

Messaging not working on the xbox or on phone. Please help with this problem tried the fix thing with resing in and so on.

Xbox One Messaging not Working

I'v been having problems with my Xbox messages and messaging for the past 2 - 4 days in the way that no new messages will load. I can't send any new responses unless I'm on the Pc app and i am unable to read or respond to new / old ones.

I have no error messages giving me a hint at what it could be. I'v tried restarting my console. going from offline > online, waiting for a day or two, disconnection my WiFi. its the first time is happened to me. so I'm unsure of what else to try. so I'm
asking you guys for that reason.

It would be very helpful if you can help me solve this problem.

If it's compatible with Xbox One, it should work with the entire family of devices (Xbox One, Xbox One S, Xbox One X). What error message do you get when you attempt to connect the device to the One S? Is it simply not seeing the controller?

Are you sure it's a Series S and not a One S? Typically you would get that message if you're trying to play a Series S/X game on a One because those games won't work on those consoles.

We have you played with the same user on another game (F1) and it works fine but Fortnite will bring up this error message (cross platform is not supported for Xbox series s/x. If we try and play Xbox one to Xbox one it works fine

So if you send a game request from a Xbox one to someone that has an Xbox series s/x, it just says it’s unsupported

I understand, have you performed factory reset on both consoles? If not yet, please try to perform the factory reset keep my games and apps on your Xbox One S console > then check if it works.

If it still doesn't work, may I have the exact error message upon attempting to log in to your accounts on your Xbox One S, please?
