Messaging doesn’t work

It just says “check again, messaging doesnt work for your account”. And then their is a link that takes me here, and the article is usesless because it didn’t work. I found this issue when I first created my account, which was months ago, and i didn’t
know I could do what I’m doing now at the time. At first I thought it was some sort of privacy thing, but I searched this website for answers and didn’t find anything saying “messaging errors” (please make that a thing though)

I am writing this on my child account, but my dad said he doesn’t think that he can do anything to fix this problem. (ps pls let me put any image as my profile pic idk why you don’t let us do that in the first place)

If you have already checked the support link
here check if you have registered a child account. In that case only your parental account can change privacy settings.

Go to https://enforcement.xbox.com then log in and see if you have any enforcement against your account

More than likely if you do NOT have an enforcement issue. You might want to try clearing your mac address

Go to: Settings>Network> Advanced Settings> Alt Mac address> Clear> Restart

This will reset your network settings on your Xbox.

If this does not fix it attempt to clear you local saved games (Only if you have Xbox live!)

got to: settings> system> storage> clear local saved games

This will reboot your console and restore your saved games from your cloud. Then check your messages.
