Messaging and Notifications on iOS 10(.2) not loading

I have an iPhone 6S (iOS 10.2) and since the last 2 updates of the Xbox App I haven't been able to view messages and notifications on the App. Whenever I go to messages a loading icon keeps loading and nothing loads in. Same for notifications.
Friends list and profile changes, achievements, etc.. that all works. Only
messages and notifications don't load in (which is a main feature so that's why I wanted to notify on here).

Just spoke to Microsoft Support person and they had me try on a different device of similar OS, did that and the problem persisted. Thus the issue was passed on to engineering to fix. Also redirected me here to explain it further.

I want to add when messages don't load in and you click the refresh icon in the upper right corner, the
App freezes. Same for notifications. Same happened on both devices.

Lastly as I have to resort to going to xbox.com if I wanna read messages since the App doesn't function properly, I noticed that
xbox.com can't load in messages on Safari and Chrome on the same iPhone device. So not only does the App not function properly, xbox.com has issues loading messages as well. As a result I have to view messages on xbox.com on my MacBook. Thus
I have no way of reading messages on my mobile device. This should really get fixed.

Notification problem

No message notifications since last update (22-dec-2016)

Sounds for notifications have not worked since past 3-5 updates

Have removed app, restarted phone, reinstalled, restarted phone, launched app. Yes all settings for notifications / sound / etc are on and have been toggled off, restarted, toggled on, restarted.

UPDATE: Notifications working now, but still no sound when phone locked or in another app. Sound only plays when in xbox app but not while messaging portion of app is displayed.

Friends online notifications not popping up

Just add to ths. Been nearly 2 weeks with this issue, no notifications on xbox one dashboard and no notifications on iOS smartglass.

This issue seems to be ignored, there is no real attempts or at least notice that this issued is recognised bpt microsoft and they are working on it.

2 weeks without notifications on smartglass is ok, not too bothered. But on the actual console is unnacceptable.

People on my friends list also ghve this issue.

This issue was first reported on this board exactly a month ago, and many times since. There has been no solution. I wouldn't be surprised if a moderator starts asking you questions like this is a new issue while the previous folks who asked remain unanswered.
My only recommendation is what someone previously posted: Download the 360 Smartglass. You can't read group messages, and it is not nearly as good as a functioning ios app, but it is better than nothing, which is what we have. I actually bought a cheap
Android tablet just so I don't have to exit a game to respond to messages.

I also use the app for IOS so I'm just wondering if you have the notifications turned on in settings.

To check just in case you would have to go to:

Settings > Notifications > Turn on the message button so that it shows the check mark

Let us know if that did it and if not we can try something else.

Its not the notifications that are off, its the messages, like in the app, it just has a infinite loading screen

Right now, loading it up with Edge and Firefox on my Windows 10 PC is normal. The Xbox app, however, is stuck with a spinning icon while it endlessly tries to load my messages.

Trying open it with Safari (with macOS) and Mobile Safari (on iOS) right now is greyed out with the spinning icon like you. The Xbox app on iOS, however, loads messages just fine.

Really have no clue what factors are causing this. What a strange, inverse scenario I'm experiencing here...

In the settings on the iOS App, every time I check the box to turn on notifications for the messages, it is not actually turning on and when I go to another menu and come back 2 seconds later, the box is not checked anymore. I never get notifications for
my messages and I also have to refresh it by hand, and even that is quirky. To refresh it, I have to 1) send a message to that person, 2) go to the screen with the list of conversations I have and keep pressing the refresh button in the corner, etc. It is
very annoying. It means that I am both not getting the push notifications AND there is no badge icon.

So i use the IOS app and my messages wont load, they load perfectly fine on my xbox, but it shows i got no notifications when i try my app, i tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it, restarting it, logging out and logging back it, and a few other
things but they wont load.

So i did research and it turns out that this has been going on for a while, but i dont know the solution to fix it :/
