Messages From Unknown People About [Mod removed]

With in the past 3-4 days My friends and I have been getting messages from people with the same gamer pic and 0 gamerscore. Anyway they keep telling me to go to [Mod removed]. Another suspicious thing is the messages all start with "Hey Dude" or Dude Quickly"
and end with "I got and xbox one a few days ago.." If this is something microsoft is sending out then please just let me know but, if this isn't microsoft or someone in alaboration with them I hope that they will put some closer investagation into this. -

All achievements earned while connected to LIVE will have a date stamp connected to it, If online only achievements show up without a date stamp of when it was unlocked then it shows there was an alternate method used in obtaining the achievement. There
are many ways to do it which I will not go into due to the fact it is against Microsoft policy. If you are found "Guilty" of using one of those methods then your Gamerscore will be reset and the term "cheater" will be shown on your gamercard. You can still
earn other achievements and move forward but any previously unlocked achievements will not be obtainable again. Here's to hoping your brother didn't use one of those methods to get that achievement as you said he also plays on your account.

No worries, it's a commonly known scam trying to lure you in. Many of us members here have been victims of the messages and you'll even find several active topics here discussing the same matter. You're not in any sort of risk. Just simply report the member
through your console then block them from communicating. Microsoft is in no way associated with these scammers.

 

By victims of the messages, I simply meant most of us have recieved the messages. As far as I know no one has been actually lured in and scammed. The messages are highly ineffective and nothing more than a minor nuisance.

 

It's probably best not to actually post the website in the subject for fear people may actually go to the site. You could have just wrote that you're getting messages from unknown senders trying to get me to go to some shady a** website.

 

No matter what measure is taken to stop scams like this, a countermeasure will get it going again. When a company wants to reach you bad enough, they will find a way and they don't care how angry people get. They cling to the hope one unknowing kid falls
for it and goes to their site.

 

Why don't Microsoft add the option of only being able to receive messages from friends? ive been getting 2-3 of these a day for 2 weeks now. Just annoying for me but I worry for the people with kids. if a raffle site can spam messages to anyone they want,
so could others.

 

The option to set communications to friends only has been there for a few years.
