there is a bug in some situations where it is blank, That has been logged in the insider program. But if the account and console is set to child and the other is adult perhaps the family settings could be blocking some, It does sound like you have encountered
a bug please try looking at the messages on the companion app.

Can you go ahead and firstly try to restart your console by holding your finger on the power button until it completely shuts down. Wait a few moments then start the console back up.

If you have no success with this, head over to your settings then go to network settings

Click advanced settings and look for alternate mac address and clear this. This will restart your console.

I dont know what insider program is. Ok, when i send or receive a message i can see the first few words but when i try to open the message, its blank. My family who sent the message told me also the audio message i sent could not be opened. They have
control as their xbox is on adult setting and this xbox is on child setting.
