Message about issue with saved games led to destruction of user account and game history

While playing PES 17 the game would not progress from having selected the team to the actual start of the match. I quit PES 17 and started up COD3 when an error message came up saying there was an issue with my saved games. To correct this i was
given two options -

1. restart console with and keep my games

2. restart the console and get rid of games

I chose the keep games option (it was just one of my master league games not progressing which caused this) and the thought of losing my games and progress was too much to think about.

I restarted the console and ended up having to start the console setup again. To my absolute horror my user account has been deleted along with my game progress and any DLC. I am devastated about my game progress being lost - I was level 117 on Fallout
4 and had purchased all the DLC (apart from the themepark one), all my master league saves for PES, on COD I purchased the Giant DLC to play the zombies map (one I played probably 8 years ago I had leveled up 80% of the guns with all the camos and attachments.
Red Dead Redemption - I was a few missions away from gaining access to the Great Plains where you had to kill bears with a knife. BEARS WITH A KNIFE! All this time has been wasted. PLUS I not longer have a Gold account so can't play online and had EA access
and was in the middle of the early Battlefield 1 access.

In total I have lost about over £100 worth of DLC and Gold +EA Access. The value of my saved games and progress would be 100 times that, based on DLC prices etc.

I have also lost all my apps, the way everything was set up the familiarity was important too. There was no warning that this was going to happen - just those two options.

Its like a carpenter having all their finished items and then find them all gone, just left with the tools to make them again! It can be done, but the time and effort required is insurmountable.

I can't believe it has happened, but I can believe that the suggested way to fix a corrupt saved game in PES17 is for microsoft to provide two options which both, as I found out too late, delete you account. I can't believe I can't even speak to
someone about this - no customer support phone number is provided, just this and bloody twiter

The though of what I would have to do to get back in the same position is unthinkable (I hate to think how long I spent playing the games, but I was even proud of what I had achieved - does anyone know how long to takes to edit a settlement on FALLOUT 4?

This has basically rendered my XBOX useless, its unattractive - imagine this happening to you! What you would have to do. I wish I had just deleted the PES17 master league.



Weirdly, I tried to choose my old account user name because it gave me a stupid default one, but the set up doesn't progress any further as if my old user name is not available. Does that mean it is still somewhere out there?

If there is anyone who can shed some light or offer words of condolence it would be appreciated. I've lost a big part of my life and quite a bit of money too. Also does anyone know if there is a UK customer support number? I know companies do anything
they can to prevent or allow people calling them, but if anyone has contacted them previously - a UK number is poss.

Anyway - no idea how to resolve this or when I will be determined enough to approach it. Some people may laugh at this, but if you are ever faced with the options above - just delete a saved game rather than let Microsoft delete your past and stand
by the cash machine ready to take money for what you have already given money for.

Just removed the account got the same "Join xbox live!" Message.

Hey BruteSuperior23! You should be able to access all of your content by signing back in to the account that you had originally on the console. This should be associated to a Microsoft Account. Thanks!
