    Merging Xbox Live and Microsoft accounts


    My Xbox Live account has always been independent of my Microsoft account due to my laptop forcing me to have my login password the same as my microsoft account password. The email that I used for my xbox live account is a deactivated old email that I used
    to have. How can I port the xbox live profile over to my newer microsoft account? When I try to change the email through the old account here on xbox live (through the website and not the xbox one itself) it says that the email is already taken. I don't want
    to delete my new microsoft account because it's got all of my laptop login info. And I don't want to delete my old xbox live profile because I've got game progress saved up on it. Now strangely enough I was able to change the email on my old 360 account but
    I can't for the Xbox One. Any help please!

    If you create a new account, yes. If you currently have an Xbox Live account you would like to use you will not be able to merge them when you go online in the future.

    I'm afraid that it's not possible to merge multiple Xbox Live (or Microsoft) accounts into one account.

    Same here, I've setup my son with a parent approved Microsoft account and parent approved Xbox Live account. In either case it doesn't let me merge the two.

    I created the microsoft account with a gmail account. it created an xbox live profile for that account. Is there a way I can delete that xbox live part of my microsoft account and substitute the other ? The actual xbox account uses an older yahoo email
    address and its a miracle I remembered the password earler

    Are you following the steps outlined here https://support.xbox.com/en-GB/my-a...nt/change-email-sign-in-for-microsoft-account

    If you have have an Xbox gamertag assigned to the email you want to use, then it won't be possible. Bear in mind if the email address you wish to remove is a Microsoft one (@outlook, @live, @hotmail) then it will be completely closed down and you will have
    no access to emails or anything associated with that address.
