    Merging XBox and Microsoft Accounts


    I've been using the same xbox acct for about 10 years now. When I signed up for it back in the day, I used a hotmail.com email address. Fast forward 9 years....I've long since abandoned that hotmail address. I subscribed to Office 365 and was prompted
    to create a Microsoft ID. Not really thinking about the existing Xbox account as a Microsoft account, I created an entirely new Microsoft ID using my gmail account.

    I also somehow ended up with a secondary account on my Xbox that matches the gmail address I used with my Microsoft/Office 365 acct. Don't ask me how that happened. I have no idea. I want to link my primary Microsoft and primary Xbox accounts together.
    How do I...

    - Delete the Xbox account that is associated with my gmail address?

    - Change the email address associated with my primary Xbox account so that it is the same gmail address associated with my Microsoft acct?

    You can not merge Microsoft/Xbox accounts.

    it is 2023 almost 2024 and we still cant move a xbox live account to a different Microsoft account.

    they merged it all in the when Xbox one came out, you used to be able to change the Microsoft account associated with the Xbox account but this has been merged for over 10 years now.

    not possible, the xbox account IS the microsoft account, they were merged to one identity years ago.

    xbox accounts and microsoft accounts were fully merged years ago, you can no longer separate or move an xbox account to another microsoft account as the xbox account IS the microsoft account now.
