merging footnote accounts

My son started his Fortnite account on his iPad, then recently got an xbox. When we installed fortnite on his xbox we tried to link the accounts through epic games, but it did not work. Now it is installed and he is signed in, but its under his xbox gamer
name and not his fortnite name so none of his progression is on the xbox. what do I do? I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling fortnite, but the option to link did not appear again.

If you have Twitter you can follow Epic Support and ask them any questions you have regarding you son's account and they will get back to you quicker there.

Have you tried contacting
Epic Games Support to see if they can offer assistance? It does seem like you would have to someway link that account with the Xbox account. Let us know how it goes. Good Luck.

This seems to be more of an epic games problem as Microsoft dosent handle anything related to fortnite try contacting there support page for more

Epic Games support pages.
