Mercenaries 2 freezes when it gets to the menu.

My son has a newer Xbox 360 slim, and it works great unless he tries to play the Mercenaries 2 game on his system. When he puts the game in, it loads as far as the main menu and then freezes the Xbox. We have 2 copies of the game and both copies work
fine on my older Xbox 360 Elite. And this is the only game which does not work on his Xbox. I was wondering if anyone had encountered this before, and if so, what is the fix? As it stands, the only way for him to play the game is on my system, which is a pain.

Mercenaries 1 freezing!

So I recently bought mercenaries 1, which I played a bunch on Xbox original. I tried playing it on my xbox 360, but ti keeps freezing. No other game freezes, except for mercenaries 2. So either my xbox hates the mercenaries games and won't play them, or
I have 2 damaged mercenaries discs, bought from different people, and the mercenaries 2 was bought new. Help please?!

Ok, this game has a famous freezing issue, so if you don't know about it, please don't try giving me the generic freezing fixes. Here's my problem with it. This is my son's account, and it was originally made as a child account(which i will forever regret
due to all the problems i have had related to that and can't fix cuz it can't be changed to an adult account)

The game plays just fine on my profile due to having been around awhile and having EA account. On his however, i can not do the easy fixes with DL'ing army of two or madden or whatever EA demo. Since his account is listed as a child account, he does not
get the full EA access and it will not link his account(unless there is a different EA game which allows it, unbelievable that sports games don't). So I still can not get passed the freeze with the EA servers.I know the only 2 other ways to fix it are, disconnect
the ethernet and turn off wireless, but that's a bunch of bull everytime he wants to play this game. OR delete the update and always decline the update when it asks. That is what I would like to do now, but the update does not show up in "games" on storage....so.....

TLDR; How do i delete the update now since the old way was just going to game saves and finding it in there? but i know there is a cache dump somewhere that will delete ALL game updates at once. Also, will this delete the dashboard update(hopefully not)?

 

Try clearing the cache by going to settings, system, storage, highlight hdd, press y button, select clear cache, then restart your console and see if it will play. You could also try installing the game and see if that works.

The 4gb slim is not backwards compatible with original xbox games. Which slim model does he have? I believe there are 3. The S console, N console and the newest one is the E console.
