    Hi, today I was playing a video game when my controller died I went and switched out the batteries when it would turn on but I couldn't move or hear anything so I waited for 15 mins to pass then I turned it off by hand. When I turned it back on it was
    updating which was okay but then when it was finished it made me go through this whole setup and then I realized it whipped everything clearing out all my cashes does anyone know why, please im pretty upset I don't want to have to redo everything.

    Unfortunately, there is nothing that you can do except reset everything. You can try doing a hard reset but it is doubtful that it will help.
    Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely.
    Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes.
    Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.

    Seems you have factory reseted your console by accident. At this point you have to download all your items again yet your saves are uploaded at the cloud if you were playing online.
