    hi I recently purchased a 3 month gold membership and when I go to redeem the code it says this code is not valid, so I took it to the retailer and they said that it shows activated so I need to contact Xbox and I don't know what to do

    My son has a gold membership on his 360. I don't have a gold membership. If I add my son's profile to my new Xbox One, then it will give me gold membership as well?

    months, and then, new membership will be activated.

    nor do they add time to gold memberships

    as gold memberships overwrite trial memberships to give you the full gold membership

    CaptSpacecase the membership that comes with the console is not a trial membership. The only way to get a month of trial membership is by creating a new account. Alternative trial memberships are in new games which give you 48hours 1 week or 2week trial

    In the moment you convert your membership to ultimate your gold membership is included in that conversion, so if you cancel your ultimate membership you terminate your gold membership as well. In that case you should purchase xbox gold membership again.

    Trial memberships are not proper memberships, and cannot be used for things such as Games with Gold, as well as Vault Games. Only paid Gold Memberships will give you the full features of Gold Membership.
