MediaPlayer and MKV Error on Local DLNA Server

Discus and support MediaPlayer and MKV Error on Local DLNA Server in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; Xbox One MediaPlayer not play .MKV on my DLNA ( other format works fine), but work fine from USB key, why?     MediaPlayer and MKV Error on Local DLNA Server


    Xbox One MediaPlayer not play .MKV on my DLNA ( other format works fine), but work fine from USB key, why?

    I have Fritzbox MediaServer on my home lan.

    Media Player Not showing MKV files.

    For Win7/8 to read and send MKV, the underlying DLNA Digital Media Server needs to know how to read and advertise the MKV format.

    The Xbox One October update only affects the console, and not your Windows PC.

    While the Windows Media Player can be setup as a DNLA Server (via "Turn on media streaming.."), your version of Windows is not able to read and advertise MKV as media available to the Xbox One. As pointed out in the thread, you'll need a DLNA server on your
    media PC.

    Without endorsing one DLNA server software over another, this is a good thread to read to understand the required steps:

    Does Xbox One Play MKV Video Files?

    Plex media server working fine for me, pushed from mac mini to xbox one via DLNA MediaPlayer and MKV Error on Local DLNA Server :)

    Ps mkv working fine.

    Mediaplayer is ancient compared to most mediaplayers

    Which support more codecs and don't have paid codecs

    Vlc is one of them

    And you can setup your xbox as an DLNA server which is better anyhow like that play to or vlc app and then have your phone or computer provide the server

    have not gotten any MKVs to play yet

    edit: have not tried usb but DLNA MKV is not working

    Media Player and MPEG4

    The same is true with MKV files encoded with h.264 and AC3 audio. Nothing will play in the Media Player app from my DLNA server. It was working an hour ago, but not anymore.
