Yes, the
Xbox One Media remote will work with an Xbox One X. I use mine regularly.

 

First I heard of this, thank you, I will probably get one, it's always handy to have, I still have my Xbox 360 launch media remote, the little white one.

I do too, a very long one with green buttons on it rofl.

 

It's also backlit and can be usein place of the kinect for voice commands...very cool

 

25$ is a little high to me. But I might buy it anyways, is it a universal remote?

 

The remote will control all of the peripherals your Kinect can control. The remote tells the Kinect what you tell the remote to do and voila you changed your channel!!!

 

I just purchased an Xbox One Media Remote. It works wonderfully, turns the TV on/off and navigates all apps except one: Youtube.

Figures.

I hope I don't have to wait long until Google fixes the app to work with the remote. Or maybe it will never work? Dissapointed here, because Crackle and Youtube were the two apps I use a lot and now I'm stuck with the game controller again for Youtube. Not
the end of the world, but I expected a little more.

Incidentally, you can select Youtube app, but once your in it, there is no way to navigate. Weird thing is, the channel up/down takes you to the next channel, but there is no way to select any videos. So all you can do is look at the pretty screen.

 

Oh, one more thing. There is not menu command for DVD/BluRay. So keep your other remotes handy for that. Otherwise it does great with the BluRay player. Even remembers where you left off on a DVD after turning the Xbox console off. Resumes exactly where
you left off.

 

Where did you get your remote from? Iv called my local Gamestop but they have no idea when the expected release date is. I am very eager to get one! Although the YouTube issue is a little disappointing

 

I tried GameStop first and got the same answer. So I ordered it from the Microsoft store and it arrived in 3 days with free shipping.

One really cool feature is the backlight turns on when you pick up the remote. Very nice touch!

 

P.s. It says "pre-order" on the Microsoft site, but they ship it right away. Just a glitch I guess. The remote is available.
