Media Player won't recognize my Android?

I've plugged in my Android to the One and the app still says "No Devices Found", and all the it does to my phone is charge it. A phone counts as a USB device, right? Is there some option in Smartglass I'm missing?

    :)

Media Player and Seagate Backup Plus Portable detection issue

I recently got a 2TB Seagate Backup Plus Portable drive as a media storage, the XB1 detects it fine, Media Player will INITIALLY recognize it and play stably...Problem is....

When I shift to a game then shift back to Media Player, Media Player no longer recognizes the drive. XB1 still sees it, Media Player does not, and the only method for Media Player to once again recognize the Seagate is a HARD REBOOT.

Media Player won't recognize my Android?

Hi, does you Android have an SD card in it? If so, when connected through USB, is there a notification about mounting/unmounting the SD card?

In your phone's settings too, there should be an option to change what your phone does when connected through USB, such as just charge, or act as mass storage, etc. If you change it to mass storage, can the Xbox detect it then?

I do have an SD card in, but it never gives any notification. I can manually find the mount/unmount options in Storage though. Also, the only USB setting I've been able to find are listed under PC Connections, and the options are Charge Only, MTP, and PTP.
I've had it set to MTP for a while. My PC does recognize the phone when I plug them in, but it's just having problems on the Xbox One.

I've tried it with my Android, it's not detected either. I searched a few other threads and forums, apparently nobody else can do it either, so I assume they're not supported devices yet.

You could copy your music to a USB drive or disc and play it that way, or an easier way would be to stream the music from your Android device to your Xbox, which I believe is possible.
