    Is there any way to change the view from thumbnails to a list? On the PS4 you can set the view to a list and it is so much better. I use Universal Media Player on my PC so I have a whole list of videos and music on my computer that I can play on my Xbox
    and I absolutely hate having to look through a list of thumbnails. With a list the filename isn't shortened and you fit much more on a screen making scrolling though them far better.

    As far as i know of there isnt a way to. But you put this into the universe so it will most likely happen soon! ;)

    I hope it does happen soon. The media player is much more reliable when playing files over a network than the PS4's but my long list of videos being shown as thumbnails just kills it for me.

    Hm this is the first I've heard of this topic but I suggest looking through YouTube or looking at some how-to posts online. The internet is a vast place and some consider a world of its own so there's bound to be something that can help you but the way I
    see it, the more waters you bait the more likely you are to catch the fish.

    How to connect external hard drive?

    @Farscape247 I did that and the external hard drive shows, but when I select it only gives me the option to "view contents", when I select view contents it takes me to the media player, when the media player opens it says "no devices found".

    Step 3: Play or view media

    Press the Guide button on your controller, go to Media, and select either Music Player or Video Player depending on the type of media you want to play.

    Select the name of your computer.

    Note If the name of your computer is not listed, select Computer and then Test Connection.

    Select the item you want to play or view.
