    media player skipping


    Hi I had a usb 2.0 flash drive worked great with movies I wanted more space so I bought a external hard drive it has usb 2.0 and usb 3.0 I plug it it my computer which is usb 2.0 put the movies on it then put it in my xbox one the movies skip but when I
    play it on my computer through the external hard drive it works fine no skipping could this be because of putting movies usb 2.0 and then playing them on usb 3.0?

    Media Player Preview loses connection to USB device periodically

    What do you mean "new" media player? Mine was pinned and now it's gone. It was recently used and now it won't come up. I tried to re-download it and it wouldn't connect. I was perfectly fine with the old media player. Hope they didn't mess it up. I played
    whole movies without any skipping which the 360 never did for me.

    issues with media player streaming from my PC > Xbox 1

    Topic more or less, for the last 2-3 days ive not been able to watch anything in the media player it constantly skips and stutters to the point where its unwatchable, ive had issues of it skipping and such but i more or less fixed that issue by fast forward
    a little bit and it would kind of even itself out and stop the skipping, but now for the last few days that little trick isnt working to get it to stop skipping, i was maybe wondering if it was the format but no its happening with every type.

    Xbox One Official Media Remote is now VERY slow

    Other than the lag it has, my biggest annoyance is that I can no longer use the play forward or back buttons, the rewind and fast-forward ones work but I can't skip to the next episode in the Media Player app.

    The Xbox (and other media devices) don't access your media files directly. Instead they use something called DLNA, which requires your PC to have indexed your media library.

    Then only the index is read by the Xbox (or other media players), and according to that index, you choose the files to play.

    If you moved files around, or the index became corrupted, the Xbox can't find the media files anymore.

    Please start the Windows Media player on your PC, and check that in that Media Player library, your media files are shown and are working correctly.

    If the Media Player can't locate your media, the Xbox 360 can't get to the media as well.
